In his third letter to Lucilius, Seneca stressed about selecting and trusting friends. In this sixth letter, Seneca talked about sharing what you have with your friends and the joy that comes along with it. For him though it’s not about material possessions but the wisdom he acquired through life.
Seneca was already more than 60 years old of age around this time and was giving a lot of advice to Lucilius through his letters the things he learned in life. He further emphasized to put into practice the things we learned and in his own words. “the living voice and the intimacy of a common life will help you more than the written word. You must go to the scene of action”.

The stoics are known to be doers in that they always stressed in a lot of their works the importance of perpetually testing oneself in different situations. To make a point further, in one of his letters (letter 26), Seneca said that one of the reasons why he is excited about death is that he could finally test his courage and all his propositions about death. The stoics walk the talk.
