Who is Epictetus?
Biography Epictetus, born around 55 AD in Hierapolis, Phrygia (now part of modern-day Turkey), was initially born into slavery. He lived in Rome where he was a slave to Epaphroditos, a wealthy freedman and secretary to Nero.
